Only a small 65 image sample of the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology's collection of more than 100,000 aerial photographs of Nevada is represented in the group that was taken in 1938-39 for a forest and soil survey that preceded the construction of the Mount Rose Highway.

As of April 2008, our digital collections included 162 historic aerials of locations within the Lake Tahoe Basin.

As of April 2008, our digital collections included 155 aerials of the University of Nevada, Reno campus,
the majority of which are recent aerials taken from fixed-wing aircraft, a hot air balloon, and helicopters.
