The Tahoe-Truckee Clean Water Team needs volunteers for its annual "Snapshot Day" event. The event is designed to get community volunteers involved in studying the water moving through the Lake Tahoe and Truckee River watersheds. They will do a demonstration of how to collect water samples, take water temps and other measurements. Basically what they're showing you is what they want volunteers to do on the upcoming "Snapshot Day" where people go out to all the waterways at Tahoe and in the Reno area at the same time and take the same measurements. It gives researchers a "snapshot" of what the watersheds are doing all at the same time. You will interview Melissa Blake about the measurements she's taking and what the information tells them: Explain the different measurements - talk through the process. What each measurement means. Why it's so important to get people involved to volunteer for the program. It's fun and easy!! Explain the rewards of volunteering - what you learn from the experience. Interview someone from Lahontan: Why this data is so important. What researchers do with the information.
