Taxon RemarksThis is an obvious case of mislabeling. Heller always used printed labels and the handwriting is not Heller's. Taxus is not known from Nevada and searches in the Morrill (Fuller) Lake area have not yielded the tree. Heller's notebook for 2 May 1910 says "between Verdi and Marmol." His next entry is for 15 May 1910 and reads "Morley Station, Shasta Co., Calif." I believe this specimen was collected on 15 May 1910 in California and the similarity in location names caused it to be labeled from Nevada. Arnold Tiehm 12-2000.
