Description/NotesDedicated to Saint Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits)" Designed by Grassi, a Jesuit priest, architect and mathematician. Facade by Algardi. Piazza in front of the church and the two flanking palaces are from the 18th century. [see: http://roma.katolsk.no/ignazio.htm ] Dramatic illusionistic fresco in the nave and the trompe l'oeil dome are the work of another Jesuit, Andrea Pozzo, S.J. from 1685.
